Well, it’s been a few years since I’ve been in the blogging world, but I’m ready to jump back in. Now, that I’m a wife and mommy to my own 2 kiddos, I think of all sorts of ideas to write about. Then it never ends up going anywhere, since I don’t have a blog and kind of put off journaling sometimes, so here’s another sort of mom-blog coming to you.
A few years ago, well, I guess it’s been 10 years now (2007), I started blogging to share about my youngest brother who has Down Syndrome. There was so much to learn and so much to share, that I had to blog. You can see that blog over at Got Down Syndrome’s Blog …I still keep it online, since there is too much info on there for families who have kids with Down syndrome or special needs.
Being raised in a large family (think 11 kids) has given me a different perspective on life, being a wife and mother. I was 16 years old when my youngest siblings were born, so I was much like a second mom to them. It was an absolute joy being the oldest of 11 and I loved being ‘mommy #2.’ There is so much that goes into raising babies and kids, whether it’s simple fun like crafts, cooking and baking or health concerns and tips.
I was homeschooled and given a lot of opportunities to learn in whatever topic interested me – a lot of that being health and nutrition. So, with that background, I enjoy researching and sharing on that topic. With the homeschool aspect, I really enjoyed writing and teaching kids, so sharing on that topic is right up my alley as well. And, being a wife and mother has been my dream since I was a little girl, so I love sharing our adventures and journeys through our lovely little life.
Also, we’re a Christian family who believes the Bible, so some of my sharing will come from that point of view as well. As, without our Creator, none of this would be possible.
One of these days, I’ll have the about page finished up as well with more pictures of our family and about us. Until then, enjoy the posts as I get them written and scheduled up over the next few days and weeks.
In the meantime, any blog groups, topic ideas or more, I’d be happy to hear. Just send me an email, leave a comment or follow on one of my social media pages and send your ideas with what you want to hear and see!
